We swept, cooked, maintained the home,

Raised children, cleaned, all alone

Deprived of the rights our husbands had

Seen but not heard, submissive, and sad

Feminism, activists,

Seen to some as blasphemous

We raise our voices, as we are proud

Bold and assertive before the crowd,

Unapologetic for our ambition,

Unwavering, we won’t change our position

We grow in fields like science and tech

We’re more refined, we receive paychecks

We no longer feel as small,

As we look around to see

Fragments of broken glass fall
